Cy Green & Jim Miller are Chicago born composers who have worked together for 25 years.They come from the school of hard knocks and belong to the absolute minority in music - the non-performing songwriter. They are also jazz fanatics. To compile this LIST,they were assisted by local Jazz DJ Bill Bohannon. This is vital information about great jazz recordings - the BEST JAZZ CD's TO BUY.
These writers carry on the American tradition
of songwriting when it was a craft.
Cy & Jim are not nostalgic by no means. Publishers didn't know where they should place some of their tunes. JAZZ or POP? Why does everything have to be catergorized? Their music is beyond a category or fad and the tunes stand alone.Their use of uncommon intervals and twists in the melody with unique song structures make them different.
Cy had a dream once - to hear something he wrote, played right after a Jazz or Pop Standard, and know in his heart - it fit right in.
On tunes with words, the singer has no time for sleep.You will be challenged and kept awake.
